Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Law "On the protection of the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies" was signed by the President of Uzbekistan.
According to the law, emergency situations, depending on the source of occurrence, are divided into:
- natural emergencies;
- man-made emergencies.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations is a specially authorized body of state administration in the field of emergency protection.
Citizens are provided with free medical care, compensation and other benefits for working in emergency zones.
Depending on the scale and state of the predicted or emerging emergency in a certain territory, the following regimes of the State System of Emergency Situations are established:
- daily mode - in the absence of the risk of emergency situations in a certain territory, object;
- high alert mode - in the presence of a threat of emergency situations;
- emergency mode - in the event of emergency situations and during emergency situations.
Concealment, untimely submission or submission of deliberately false information in the field of emergency protection is prohibited.
The state is obliged through the mass media to timely and reliably inform the population about the state of protection against emergency situations, the measures taken to ensure their safety, predicted or emerging emergencies, and methods of protection against them.
Declaration of emergency situations is carried out:
- in case of local emergencies - by the relevant decisions of khokims;
- in case of republican and cross-border emergencies - by the decision of the Government.
The law comes into force after three months from the date of its official publication.
