Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 February, a series of events dedicated to strengthening Uzbek-Polish trade, economic, and investment cooperation took place in Tashkent, bringing together high-level delegations from both countries.

The forum was co-chaired by Akram Aliev, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, and Michał Jarosz, Secretary of State at Poland’s Ministry of Development and Technology.

As part of the business agenda, a business forum was held, attracting over 150 executives from leading companies in Uzbekistan and Poland. The Polish delegation included representatives from JAKUSZ, BIOREX Food Diagnostics, PRONAR, Fabryka Maszyn Elektrycznych DAMEL S.A., Spółdzielnia Mleczarska MLEKOVITA, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), SKYBONE, HORUS-ENERGIA, TRADE CONNECT GROUP, CLEVER LOGISTICS, ABPLANALP, AMBERITE POLAND, and others.

Opening the forum, Akram Aliev emphasized the need for active engagement between business communities and the dynamic development of trade ties. He highlighted the importance of conducting an in-depth analysis of regional markets and transport-logistics capabilities to enhance trade turnover successfully.

Over the past five years, Uzbekistan-Poland mutual trade volume has doubled, reaching nearly $400 million by the end of last year. Currently, 39 enterprises with Polish capital operate in Uzbekistan.

Both sides expressed confidence in the significant potential for further trade growth, including through preferential access to regional markets.

The forum showcased Uzbekistan’s investment potential and presented specific projects in pharmaceuticals, food processing, agriculture, tourism, digital technologies, and education. Participants received detailed information on business-friendly conditions, legal guarantees for entrepreneurs, and the country’s investment attractiveness.

Discussions focused on the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation, with clear targets set for expanding trade, attracting investments, and fostering industrial collaboration.

As part of the forum, B2B and B2G meetings were organized, allowing entrepreneurs to establish new business connections and explore promising joint projects.

The business agenda continued with a session of the Uzbekistan-Poland Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. During the meeting, representatives of relevant ministries and agencies provided reports on the implementation of previous agreements. Detailed discussions were held on the progress of joint projects, specific measures to accelerate their implementation, deadlines, and the appointment of responsible officials.

Following the session, the parties signed the Protocol of the Uzbekistan-Poland Intergovernmental Joint Commission along with several bilateral agreements.

These included a Memorandum of Understanding between Uzbekistan’s Foreign Investment Promotion Agency and Poland’s Investment and Trade Agency, a cooperation agreement between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Polish Chamber of Commerce to establish an Uzbek-Polish Business Council, and an agreement on cooperation between business ombudsmen of both countries to protect entrepreneurs’ rights.
