Prospects for the Smart City Project in Ferghana Discussed in Seoul

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Ferghana Region, consisting of officials and entrepreneurs, is currently visiting the Republic of Korea.

At the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea, the region’s Deputy Hokim, Nuriddin Mamajonov, held a series of meetings with leading Korean companies, universities, and government representatives.

During negotiations with representatives of Soosung Engineering Co., Ltd., proposals for implementing the “Smart City” project in the Ekoshard area of Ferghana were reviewed. The company’s representatives agreed to visit Ferghana to continue discussions on the project.

At a meeting with a representative of Seoul National University of Science and Technology (Seoultech), issues were discussed regarding the intensification of bilateral cooperation between higher education institutions in the two regions, as well as the exchange of experience among professors, lecturers, and students.

In talks with officials from the Ganso District of Seoul, measures were identified to organize collaboration in economic and investment areas between Ferghana Region and the corresponding Korean structures.
