Prospects for the functioning of the energy market of the EAEU for the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan announced

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 2 years have passed since the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which was attended by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, our country received observer status in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). It was 11 December 2020.

The status of the country’s observer in the EAEU allowed the country to reach a qualitatively new level of dialogue and practical interaction, to understand more deeply and better the rapid processes that take place within the association.

Thus, in accordance with the joint action plan of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Commission for 2021-2023, the Energy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission held a Presentation of the prospects for the functioning of the common energy market of the Eurasian Economic Union for representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the presentation, the parties exchanged views on the possible consequences of the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the common energy market of the EAEU.

Agreements were also reached to continue work to deepen integration processes and minimize the negative consequences of joining the above market.

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is an international organization of regional economic integration with international legal personality and established by the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union of 29 May 2014.

Currently, the EAEU includes five countries: the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation.
