Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 January, the representative office of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China held a meeting with a delegation of GD Power Co., Ltd. led by CEO Jia Yanbing to discuss prospects for cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources, Dunyo news agency reports. 

GD Power Co., Ltd. is part of China Energy Corporation, China’s largest energy and mining company. It is engaged in the production and distribution of electricity in China, as well as the implementation of projects for the production of electricity from renewable energy sources (solar and wind). 

The company is currently participating in a tender for a PPP-based project for solar photovoltaics Guzar Solar with a capacity of 1 GW, implemented as part of the solar energy development program in Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek side acquainted the Chinese company with the presentation of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan on the main directions for the implementation of projects through renewable energy sources.

In addition, the Uzbek side informed representatives of GD Power Co., Ltd. that Uzbekistan has all the initial components for the production of solar panels and equipment for wind farms, and is also ready to consider proposals for the start of localization of production.
