Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of Senate of Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, who is on a working visit to Qatar to attend the 5th UN Conference on Least Developed Countries, met with Said Al Saqri, Minister of Economy of Oman.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of further development of relations between Uzbekistan and Oman in various fields, and strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries.
The sides were briefed on the wide-ranging efforts underway in the country toward the construction of the New Uzbekistan and the constitutional reforms.
It has been noted during the dialogue that the two nations share a common culture, religion, traditions and spiritual values, and that both sides are equally interested in the consistent consolidation of mutually advantageous relations.
The economy minister of Oman pointed out that Uzbekistan’s international prestige has been growing, and said that our country is regarded as a major partner in Central Asia. In this regard, it has been stressed that Oman stands for further intensification of bilateral relations in economy, agriculture, innovations, tourism and other areas.
During the conversation, views have been exchanged on strengthening trade and economic cooperation, setting up industrial cooperation and joint implementation of investment projects.
