Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A number of issues are discussed at the plenary session of the twelfth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In particular, the Chairman of the Senate Tanzila Narbaeva dwelled on the activities of the upper chamber of the Oliy Majlis in 2020 and priority tasks for the current year.
“The past year was very important for the parliament, including the Senate,” said T. Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate. - The first year of our activity in the new composition fell on a difficult period and days of testing.
The main attention was paid to the full implementation of the powers enshrined in the Constitution and laws, the tasks identified during the meetings of the head of state with the newly elected members of parliament in January last year, as well as reflected in the Address to the Oliy Majlis, as well as urgent tasks that arose during the pandemic. The work of the Senate did not stop for a single day.
Studying the implementation of the law or the State program, traveling to a region, hearing the report of the minister or khokim - to all these events, first of all, a simple and specific approach was applied, in accordance with which we thought about what benefits it would bring to the people, what problems today are of the greatest concern to the population, what needs to be done to solve them. Based on the results of studying the problems associated with the socio-economic development of regions, more than three thousand issues related to the allocation of funds in the amount of more than 28 trillion soums were submitted to the Government for solution.
Based on these proposals, within the framework of the parameters of the State Budget for 2021 and investment programs, the allocation of funds in the amount of more than 8 trillion soums has been achieved.
