Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The forum "New Uzbekistan and National Cinematography" was held in the building of the Uzbekfilm State Unitary Enterprise, dedicated to summing up the results of the work done in this area.

It discussed the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Uzbekfilm on 20 November, a meeting with filmmakers, as well as proposals and recommendations expressed at the meeting, successes and shortcomings in the field of Uzbek cinema.

The forum was attended by over 300 representatives of the film industry, who exchanged views on the work done in 2020 and plans for the new 2021. This was reported by the information service of the Uzbekkino National Agency.

The General Director of the National Agency "Uzbekkino" Firdavs Abdukhalikov, the head of the "Creative Union of Filmmakers of Uzbekistan" Matyakub Matchanov, Deputy Director of the State Unitary Enterprise "Uzbekfilm" Murad Yuldashev, Chairman of the Public Council of the National Agency "Uzbekkino" Hamidulla Khasanov, Director of the State Unitary Enterprise "Studio of Documentary and Chronicles "Bakhodir Adilov and director Jahongir Akhmedov, who in their speeches commented on the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the new building of Uzbekfilm and talked about the work done in the field.

In his report, the General Director of the agency, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, noted the importance of the visit of the head of state to Uzbekfilm, spoke about the recommendations and initiatives expressed during his visit, in particular, such as the formation of the film industry, the creation of high-level works of art, training of young professionals, filming films in the historical genre, the creation of national serials, about the identification of the 100 best Uzbek films and their demonstration on state and private TV channels.

Also, the head of Uzbekkino summed up the results of the year in the film industry, spoke about the new projects being implemented by the agency and plans for the future. The speakers expressed gratitude to the head of state for taking care of filmmakers, initiatives to create a film academy and a House of Cinematographers, complete reconstruction of the Uzbekfilm film studio, construction of housing for filmmakers and support in many other issues. It was noted that the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed in the future, in 2021, to widely and worthily celebrate the 110th anniversary of the Uzbek film director Malik Kayumov, the 90th anniversary of Shukhrat Abbasov.

The head of the Creative Union of Cinematographers of Uzbekistan, Matyakub Matchanov, said that the Creative Union is considering the organization and holding of the Oltin Humo national award, as well as the size of the industry employees’ fees.

It was noted at the forum that an action plan would be developed to implement the proposals and recommendations made by the head of state for the implementation of the tasks.

At the end of the forum, filmmakers celebrating their anniversary this year, including Bakhtiyor Ikhtiyorov, Khairulla Sadiev, Lutfulla Sadullaev, Gulchekhra Sadullayeva, Isamat Ergashev, Rifkat Ibragimov, Hamidulla Hasanov, Giyas Shermukhammedov were awarded with diplomas.
