Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 February 2022, a meeting of the Uzbek-Kazakh working group on transport issues was held.
At the negotiations held under the leadership of the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Muminov and the Deputy Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. Kamaliev, promising areas of cooperation, as well as issues related to improving the conditions for the transportation of goods, were discussed.
At the meeting, the parties confirmed the importance of easing epidemiological requirements and accelerating the process of resuming passenger transportation by land transport.
The working group also considered infrastructure projects in the field of road and rail transport: the high-speed railway Turkestan - Chimkent - Tashkent and the transport corridor "Uchkuduk - Kyzylorda".
In addition, the issue of introducing new routes (airways) in servicing air traffic on the air territories of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan was discussed.
The introduction of these new routes will achieve a significant reduction in aircraft flight times, which, in turn, will have a positive impact on the global environmental situation, fuel efficiency and attract additional users to the region.
As a result of the meeting, an appropriate protocol was signed on the agreements reached.
