Production of artificial lung ventilation devices launched in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Russian-Slovak-Uzbek enterprise Chirana Asia for the production of artificial lung ventilation devices (IVL) was launched.

The agreement on the production of 500 ventilators per year was reached following the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Innovative Development and the founder of the Slovak-Russian-Uzbek joint venture Chirana Asia - Shimco Group in 2019.

The total cost of the project is US$6 million. At the first stage, US$2 million was invested and a workshop for assembling ventilators was launched.

Minister of Innovative Development Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov noted that the annual capacity of the plant will not be limited to 500 units, we also plan to produce up to 1000 units per year and export the product to neighboring countries.

In May 2020, the first ventilator produced under the label “Made in Uzbekistan” was donated to the 1st Republican Clinical Hospital, the equipment passed state clinical trials, and a registration certificate of Uzbekistan was received. The equipment has received excellent marks from practicing resuscitation specialists.

A service center for equipment was created, as well as a mobile modern service center for mechanical ventilation and anesthesia and respiratory devices. Training seminars are held to train domestic specialists in the field of anesthesiology with the invitation of highly qualified foreign specialists. Modern training rooms equipped with special simulators have been built for the specialists of medical institutions.

Such production is being established for the first time in Central Asia. The project will not only meet domestic needs, but also export domestic products to neighboring countries such as Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.
