Procedure for issuing a certificate of power of attorney by aksakals approved

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The governmental resolution approved a regulation on the procedure for certifying powers of attorney by chairmen (aksakals) of citizens’ gatherings of makhallas in villages, kishlaks, auls, as well as makhallas of cities, towns, villages and auls.

In accordance with the law, self-government bodies may certify powers of attorney for:

-correspondence, including money and parcel;

- salary and other payments related to labor relations;

- remuneration of authors and inventors;

- pensions, allowances and scholarships;

-sum from banks.

Powers of Attorney are issued in the state language. Powers of Attorney can be issued in Russian or other convenient language.

Power of attorney certified in the building of citizens. If a citizen cannot come to a citizens’ gathering due to illness, disability, or other valid reasons, the power of attorney can be certified by the person’s place of residence.

In the following cases, the power of attorney can be denied:

-If the power of attorney is against the law;

-if this action must be carried out by a notary;

 -If to certify the power of attorney, a representative is addressed who does not have the relevant abilities or powers

-If the documents required to certify the power of attorney and submitted by a representative who does not have the relevant abilities or powers do not meet the requirements.

Powers of Attorney are valid for a maximum of 3 years, if the period of validity is not specified, then the power of attorney is by default valid for 1 year.
