Problems hit US computer system for visas and passports
“This issue is not specific to any particular country or visa category. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working urgently to correct the problem and restore full operability,” the statement said.
“Currently, we are unable to print most immigrant and nonimmigrant visas approved after 8 June 2015. In addition, we cannot guarantee that nonimmigrant visa applicants who submitted their DS-160 online application on or after 9 June 2015, will be able to be interviewed at their scheduled interview time. If your travel plans allow you to postpone your interview until July or August, we recommend rescheduling your appointment until that time,” the embassy noted.
The technical issues also affected the Department of State’s ability to adjudicate applications for US passports accepted overseas between 26 May and 14 June 2015, the US mission in Tashkent said.
