Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the 28th plenary session of the Senate, the results of a parliamentary inquiry sent to the Government on measures taken to ensure sustainable growth in exports and diversify its range were considered.
At the meeting, it was noted that the Government had done significant work aimed at eliminating the existing problems and shortcomings that impede the increase in exports.
In particular, in order to eliminate the problems identified in connection with the parliamentary inquiry, relevant draft regulatory legal acts have been developed.
Thus, a draft resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the comprehensive systematization of the regulatory framework for managing investments and foreign economic activity” was developed, aimed at systematizing the legislation regulating the activities of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
Thanks to the parliamentary request, measures were taken to prevent failures in the operation of the unified electronic information system for foreign trade operations. In particular, the program was transferred from outdated servers of the State Customs Committee to modern high-speed servers installed at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade.
At the same time, the senators noted that a number of shortcomings remain in this area, the elimination of which will contribute to a further increase in exports.
The meeting critically reviewed the problems in the implementation by the State Tax Committee of the system of reimbursement of value added tax to exporting enterprises.
In addition, the senators stressed the need to take concrete measures for the speedy introduction of modern international standards of insurance activities and pre-export financing in Uzbekistan.
As a result of the discussions, the corresponding resolution of the Senate was adopted.
