Problems and challenges facing modern automated slaughterhouses discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzcharmsanoat Association held a video conference meeting with entrepreneurs and representatives of the State Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development to discuss current challenges facing slaughterhouses. At the last meeting, in the spirit of critical analysis, they talked about the problems that stand in the way of the further development of the industry and their solutions.

Today, there are 89 slaughterhouses operating in the country. The Presidential Decree set the task of building 203 automated slaughterhouses in every district and city of the country.

Also, under the “Program of targeted projects”, work is underway to create 108 compact mobile services for slaughtering and collecting raw hides of cattle in densely populated mahallas in the context of each district.

This direction is developing, but at the same time, shortcomings and omissions are still noticeable. They were discussed at the meeting with the entrepreneurs themselves. Various cases were considered: the heads of slaughter enterprises, over 60 of them participated in the online meeting, could share their experience and ask questions to the responsible structures.

Particular attention was paid to such problematic topics as the creation of artificial barriers by regulatory authorities and the difficulty of attracting shepherds and farmers to slaughterhouses.

Another issue of concern to business entities in this area was analyzed in detail - the sale of meat products. Entrepreneurs will be assisted in opening retail outlets where they can sell meat "first hand".

Solutions were proposed on the spot on a number of issues, and those that need a more detailed approach were included in the minutes of the meeting.
