Private entrepreneurs and farmers are responsible for the prosperity of Motherland

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Executive Committee of Political Council of UzLiDeP, faction of the party in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and Council of Farmers of Uzbekistan organized “round table” on “We are the representatives of small and private businesses and farming movement responsible for the prosperity, peace and tranquility in our Motherland and well-being of the people!" dedicated to the 24th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence under the motto "You’re unique, you are dear to me, my native Uzbekistan!" on August 26, 2015 at the International business center.

The event was attendant by members of the faction in the parliament, deputies of local councils of people’s deputies, entrepreneurs and farmers, representatives of partner organizations and party activists.

Independence is a source of pride and glory, the greatest and most important event in the life of our people as well as guarantee of development which is to anyone and in no way inferior and enhancement of the credibility of our country on the international arena.

The participants noted that in the years of independence thanks to the support of entrepreneurs and farmers, who are the party’s electorate and occupy an important place in the economy of our country.

According to statistical data, the economy of our country has grown more than 5.5 times and real per capita income grew 9 times. During the last ten years growth of GDP steadily exceeds 8-8.5% a year, volume of GDP per capita grew 4 times and which is US$6,500.

During the years of independence in agriculture created all conditions for the development of farmers’ movement. Today, our farmers produce 90-92% of all agricultural products and they have also become a powerful social and political force, taking responsibility for the development of the agricultural sector. In the early 1990s, the population in need of food was mainly covered by imports. Today, 96% of the demand for this category of goods is provided by local producers. Currently, farmers do not only provide their foods to local markets but also exports it to foreign markets and get from this income.

In our country has adopted laws and decrees for development of agriculture based on the private property and ensuring its reliable protection. 24 years ago, private property and entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan barely existed. Today, more than 90% of all businesses in our country are small businesses. This sector currently produces more than 56% of GDP, where work 77% of the employed population.

It was also noted that activists of UzLiDeP should enhance their work to explain the population about our modern state with its strong economy and growing industrial potential as well as about created opportunities for business in our country.

At the event the achievement and contributions of leading entrepreneurs and farmers to the development of our country were encouraged.
