Priorities for the development of animal husbandry in Uzbekistan have been determined

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential resolution approved the Program for the Development of the Livestock Industry and its Industries in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2022–2026.

The program is aimed at ensuring food security by increasing the production of livestock products, the widespread introduction of modern production methods, the development of cooperation relations, and state support for the livestock sector. The priority areas are:

stable provision of the population with livestock products, expansion of production in animal husbandry and its branches;

strengthening control in the field of animal husbandry, increasing the volume of production of export-oriented competitive products;

establishing efficient exploitation of natural resources and environmental protection on a systematic basis, rational use of land and water resources;

further development, improvement of the quality and expansion of the types of infrastructure services in the livestock sector, the widespread introduction of modern market principles in this area;

modernization of the sphere of livestock production, increase in private investment and the flow of foreign capital to support the sphere, introduction of mechanisms to increase investment attractiveness;

development of norms for products produced on the basis of one hectare of irrigated and rainfed land in order to increase the productivity of livestock and ensure the rational use of allocated areas.

The Roadmap was also approved for the implementation in 2022 of the tasks defined in the Program for the Development of the Livestock Sphere and its Industries in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2022–2026.

In 2022, it is planned to attract World Bank loans in the amount of US$300 million for the development of the livestock sector and its industries.
