Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov on 12 March 2021.
An exchange of views took place on the priority areas of Kyrgyz-Uzbek bilateral cooperation, including in trade and economic, water and energy, transport, cultural and recreational and other spheres.
President Sadyr Japarov noted the importance of strengthening the active work on the agreements reached by the governments of the two countries, proposing to use all platforms for negotiations on a regular basis.
First of all, as Sadyr Japarov said, it is necessary to organize a meeting of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation in a short time.
The President further noted the positive dynamics in mutual trade, which persisted despite the global economic crisis.
According to him, recently, the countries have taken a number of efforts to further expand bilateral trade, including the start of the implementation of the Roadmap to expand and deepen cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
The head of Kyrgyzstan stressed that these measures confirm the readiness and interest of the parties in the development and deepening of trade and economic cooperation.
Sadyr Japarov also spoke positively about the creation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Business Council, which will become a new platform for deepening economic partnership and create opportunities for establishing direct ties between Kyrgyz and Uzbek entrepreneurs in the development of border trade. The first meeting of the council took place within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek business forum, held in Tashkent.
In addition, the President noted the importance of joint implementation of projects within the framework of the Plan of Practical Measures to expand and deepen cooperation in the field of industrial cooperation, including projects to create joint agricultural enterprises.
Having responded positively about the active development of the pharmaceutical industry in Uzbekistan, Sadyr Japarov proposed to create a joint venture in Kyrgyzstan for the production of medicines, medical equipment and personal protective equipment.
President Sadyr Japarov expressed confidence that there is complete mutual understanding between the countries, which is necessary for the further deepening of bilateral and multilateral interaction.
Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov stressed good neighborly relations with Kyrgyzstan based on strategic cooperation.
He noted the importance and fruitfulness of the meeting of Presidents Sadyr Japarov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which gave a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations and strengthened relations between the countries.
Abdulla Aripov expressed full readiness to implement all the agreements reached at the historic meeting of the heads of state, in close cooperation with the Government of Kyrgyzstan, noting that the Uzbek side can visit Kyrgyzstan at any time to hold meetings of intergovernmental commissions.
At the end of his speech, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov noted that the centuries-old historical and cultural community of the two peoples contributes to the active development of relations between the countries.
