Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Kazakh government delegation headed by Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov is arriving in Uzbekistan today, Dunyo news agency reported.
The program of the visit provides for bilateral negotiations with the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and other joint events.
Alikhan Smailov was appointed head of the Government of Kazakhstan exactly a month ago - on 11 January. He is 49 years old. Previously, he held various positions in the civil service and in economic structures, including the Minister of Finance, First Deputy Prime Minister.
Kazakhstan is one of the leading foreign economic partners of Uzbekistan. In 2021, the mutual trade turnover amounted to US$3.9 billion, which is more than 2 times more than in 2016.
