Prime Minister of Fiji Expresses Interest in Strengthening Relations with Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Prime Minister of Fiji Sitiveni Rabuka has expressed his country’s interest in further strengthening bilateral relations with Uzbekistan.

He made this statement during a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Fiji, Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated the ambassador on his new appointment, noting that it marked an important step in fostering friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Describing Fiji–Uzbekistan relations as multifaceted and diverse, Mr. Rabuka emphasized his country’s commitment to active and meaningful cooperation through diplomatic, economic, and cultural channels.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the “Ocean of Peace” concept, noting its significance as a manifestation of shared responsibility for maintaining peace and security in the region. He stressed that this initiative would serve as the Pacific region’s contribution to global efforts to ensure stability and peace.

In response, Ambassador Abdurakhmonov expressed his gratitude for the meeting and reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s intention to expand cooperation with Fiji in areas of mutual interest.
