Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A system of free meals for students in grades 1-4 will be introduced in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region from 1 April 2022. This is stated in the draft decree of the President of the country "On the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026".

It is noted that as a pilot project, primary school students will be provided with free breakfast or lunch at the expense of the state budget.

At the same time, the draft provides for specific mechanisms for establishing effective public control over the spending of allocated funds and preventing corruption factors.
