Press Tour Held at International Tourism Academy in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A press tour for representatives of national and international media took place in Samarkand at the International Tourism Academy.

During the event, journalists learned about the university’s history, its educational programs, and the facilities designed to train highly qualified professionals in the tourism sector.

Guests were shown modern classrooms, specialized laboratories, a library with a professional literature collection, and multimedia rooms equipped for studying hotel and restaurant management, tour guiding, and tourism management.

A separate part of the program highlighted the Academy’s international projects: participation in global tourism forums, student exchange programs, and joint research with foreign universities. The administration emphasized that education is conducted in three languages—Uzbek, Russian, and English—with instructors from leading tourism schools worldwide.

Journalists also spoke with students, who shared experiences of internships in hotels, travel agencies, and Samarkand’s cultural and historical sites.

Firuza Zokhidov, Associate Professor at the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road,” noted that the academy actively implements the best global practices in tourism training:

“We aim not only to teach students theoretical subjects but also to immerse them in real practical environments. This allows future professionals to adapt to the demands of the modern labor market while still studying.”

Academy representatives added that in the coming years, plans include expanding international cooperation, adopting modern educational technologies, and developing research initiatives in the tourism sector.
