Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 October, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon as part of the program of the meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Topical issues of further expansion of multifaceted cooperation and deepening of regional partnership in Central Asia were considered.

The Presidents noted the need for practical implementation of agreements at the highest level, primarily on increasing trade turnover, implementing priority investment projects in industry, energy, transport, infrastructure, and agriculture.

Issues of interaction within the framework of regional structures, including the SCO and the CIS, were also discussed.
