Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 31 August, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan exchanged sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 31st Anniversary of the Independence of the two countries, wishing peace, well-being and prosperity to the fraternal peoples.
The consistent strengthening of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, the dynamic development of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries was noted with particular satisfaction.
Since the beginning of the year, the trade turnover has grown by 30 percent. Active interregional exchanges continue, joint projects of industrial cooperation are being implemented, and transport links are expanding. Important cultural and humanitarian events are being held.
An agreement was reached to hold a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Delimitation and Demarcation of the State Border in September this year.
The main attention was paid to the promotion of priority regional infrastructure projects in transport and energy, including the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1.
The heads of states also discussed issues of deepening interaction in Central Asia and the agenda of the upcoming Samarkand SCO Summit.
