Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 December, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan sincerely congratulated each other and fraternal peoples of the two countries on the upcoming New Year 2021, exchanged warm wishes for peace, prosperity and progress.

Despite all the challenges and hardships of the outgoing year, it was stressed, the two nations were able to ensure the advancement of the relations of centuries-old friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership.

The Heads of state spoke in favor of further enhancement of cooperation, including the portfolio of trade and investment projects, deepening cooperation in industry, agriculture, transport and energy. Special attention was paid to the continuation of close contacts between the regions, implementation of a rich program of cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The Presidents also exchanged views on prospects for regional cooperation and discussed the schedule of the upcoming events at the highest level.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished the President of Kazakhstan a successful chairmanship in the Eurasian Economic Union in 2021.
