Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The presidential elections were held in accordance with the constitution and the electoral code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and met the principles of democratic elections. This was stated by the head of the CIS observer mission, Sergei Lebedev.
He noted that the presidential elections were well organized. All candidates were equally given the opportunity to present their programs and meet with voters, he added.
Observers from the CIS came to the conclusion that the voting was held in accordance with the constitution and the electoral code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and met the principles of democratic elections.
However, observers noted some technical comments. In particular, in some polling stations they were unable to obtain information on the number of voters.
Lebedev said that in such cases, observers expressed their comments.
