President Visits Largest Anglesey Food Distribution Center in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Anglesey Food distribution and storage center in Tashkent.
The facility serves the Korzinka retail network, providing storage, sorting, and packaging of goods. Covering 10 hectares, the center includes 49,000 square meters of warehouse space. Refrigeration and storage systems were built using equipment from China, Turkey, Belarus, and Russia, certified under EDGE Advanced international standards.
This project is the largest Class “A” distribution center in Central Asia, featuring 145 loading and unloading bays, allowing efficient handling of goods. The complex has four temperature zones — chilled and low-temperature chambers, as well as dry storage areas — depending on product requirements. A modern laboratory with 96 testing modules, operating 24/7, is also being established. The project is expected to create over 1,000 new jobs.
During the visit, the President highlighted that the success of such initiatives reflects careful economic policy and investor confidence.
"Over the past eight years, Uzbekistan has attracted $130 billion in foreign investment, resulting in the construction of dozens of factories and industrial enterprises. Today we also launched another major project — the construction of a new international airport with companies from Saudi Arabia, Japan, and South Korea. None of this happens by itself — it reflects the high trust in our country’s future," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
