President Visits a Modern Clinic in Almazar District
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the operations of the multidisciplinary medical center Sinomed, located in the Almazar district of Tashkent.
During the visit, the Head of State assessed the organization of services, patient conditions, and the professional capacity of the center’s medical and pharmaceutical staff.
The President noted that the private sector plays an important role in the national healthcare system, providing around 30% of all medical services in the country. Supporting private healthcare and creating additional conditions for its development remain a state priority. In this context, multidisciplinary medical centers such as Sinomed offer broad opportunities for delivering high-quality medical care.
Sinomed provides services across key medical specialties, including obstetrics, pediatrics, surgery, traumatology, orthopedics, endocrinology, and others. The construction of the center required investments of US$30 million, while modern medical equipment was imported from the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, and Germany.
The center includes both outpatient and inpatient departments and is designed to serve up to 4,500 patients annually. More than 300 jobs have been created, with over 80 physicians employed, more than 60 of whom have undergone advanced training abroad, including in South Korea, Germany, Türkiye, India, Japan, and the United States. Foreign specialists are also engaged in the clinic’s activities.
Special emphasis is placed on maternal and child healthcare. The center houses Tashkent’s first private maternity complex, capable of accommodating 30 women simultaneously, with plans to expand bed capacity.
The clinic also provides vaccination services and preventive medical check-ups for children, operates call centers and specialized patronage teams, and organizes home visits for patients. In addition, Sinomed hosts the country’s largest private vaccination center and the only sterilization center operating within the private healthcare sector.
During the visit, the President toured outpatient facilities, reviewed patient accommodation conditions, and examined the comprehensive system supporting women throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of regular prenatal monitoring and timely medical assistance, especially for first-time mothers, so that childbirth does not become a source of stress.
Addressing the clinic’s staff, the President stated that the country’s greatest achievement lies in doctors like them applying the knowledge they have gained within Uzbekistan. He underlined that competition is essential in the development of private healthcare: as the number of private medical centers grows, people gain choice, and patients receive services that are both high in quality and commensurate with treatment costs.
During the visit, the President also spoke with children playing in a specially arranged area of the center and highlighted the significant role of private clinics in ensuring high standards of medical care, developing professional expertise, and introducing modern healthcare standards across the country.
