Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent will receive 1,000 new buses by 1 April 2023. This was announced today by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In December 2022, the President announced that he had instructed Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to purchase 1,000 buses by 1 March.
The President added that dedicated lanes for public transport will appear on 25 streets of Tashkent.
At the same time, in 2023, a traffic light control system will be introduced at 233 intersections depending on passenger traffic.
It is planned to introduce paid roadside parking for at least 10,000 cars on 20 streets, the head of Uzbekistan said.
Near 6 metro stations in Chilanzar, Yunusabad and Yashnabad districts, car parks will have to be created at the entrances to the city. According to him, these car parks will be put up for auction as a ready-made business.
On this day, the President drove along a new section of the Kuilyuk elevated metro line.
