President signs law to ratify Cape Town Convention and Aviation Protocol
The law was adopted by the Legislative Chamber on 6 December 2017 and approved by the Senate on 20 December 2017.
These international legal instruments were adopted in Cape Town on 16 November 2001 and entered into force on 1 March 2006. Currently, 73 states are members of the documents.
The Cape Town Convention and the Aviation Protocol determine the procedure and consequences of the emergence of international guarantees, recognized by all States parties to these documents for aircraft objects - aircraft, engines and others.
Accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the above-mentioned international legal documents will ensure the economy of public funds for acquisition of expensive aircraft in modernization of the fleet of civil aircraft of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which ultimately should improve the level of flight safety.
