President signs decree on the development of dehkan farms and financial support for farmers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The President of Uzbekistan has signed a decree titled “On Additional Measures for Implementing a Modern Organizational System and Financial Support for Household Landowners and Dehkan Farms.”

Under the decree, the Council of Farmers, Dehkan Farms, and Household Landowners has been reorganized into the Council of Farmers of Uzbekistan.

The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction has been assigned new responsibilities aimed at developing dehkan farms and household plots. These include:

  • Conducting a comprehensive inventory of agricultural land,
  • Tracking agricultural production, and
  • Creating a detailed database on the Online Mahalla platform.

Additionally, depending on the specialization of districts and mahallas, the government plans to engage the population in high-income activities using innovative and environmentally sustainable approaches, contributing to poverty reduction.

A Support Fund for Dehkan Farms and Household Landowners has been established under the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction and the Farmers’ Support Fund.

The decree introduces financial incentive mechanisms through this fund, including:

  • Grants of up to 100 sizes of basic estimated value (BEV) for the most innovative and exemplary household projects in 500 mahallas annually.
  • Subsidies of up to 15 BEV per course for the organization of short-term training sessions by master farmers.
  • Subsidies of up to 100 million soums for master farmers who successfully establish export-oriented production on at least 50% of household plots within a mahalla.

The measures aim to enhance agricultural productivity, boost household incomes, and foster sustainable rural development.
