President signs amendments to several laws
Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan passed the law on 23 August 2014, the Senate approved it on 28 August 2014.
The law is aimed at further improving current legislation in social-economic, public-political and judicial-legal spheres.
The document was prepared to implement presidential decisions, decrees and orders on further improving investment climate and business environment in Uzbekistan, a programme on law-making work to implement amendments to Constitution of Uzbekistan.
The law introduces changes and amendments to several laws: “On Central election commission of Uzbekistan”, “On microfinancing”, “On insurance activities”, “On currency regulation”, “On mass media”, “On nature protection”, “On informatization”, Customs Code, Criminal-Procedural Code, Code on administrative responsibility and other legislative documents.
Introduction of amendments to legislation will help to further improving election legislation, expand authority and strengthen independence of Central Election Commission.
The document will be important factor to improve business climate, develop entrepreneurship activities, deepen democratic reforms in judicial-legal spheres. The law also directed at raising efficiency of environment protection and rational use of natural resources.
