President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Lays Wreath at Independence Monument
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 August, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Yangi Uzbekistan Park and laid a wreath at the base of the Independence Monument.
The monument, which reflects the key stages of the country’s history from ancient times to the present, as well as images of great scholars and rulers, stands as a symbol of independence and national pride. At its apex sits the Humo bird, an element of the national emblem representing the noble aspirations and values of the Uzbek people.
The head of state emphasized that the monument was erected in honor of the Motherland and to celebrate the courageous, peace-loving, hardworking, and heroic people of Uzbekistan.
The wreath-laying ceremony was attended by representatives of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Administration of the President, the Cabinet of Ministers, and members of the public.
