Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the Youth Festival in Nukus, Karakalpakstan.

“Just returning from Bozatau district, I learned about the youth festival and decided to meet with you. Because wherever I go, I always try to be sure to communicate with young people. It is in your eyes, knowledge, in your confidence in the future that I see New Uzbekistan, New Karakalpakstan and I get enormous strength from this,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

A large-scale work has been done in Karakalpakstan in the Year of Supporting Youth and Health Protection of the Population. 14 new schools were built in cities and regions, 4 new universities were opened.

- I always talk about young people, about the importance of education, gaining knowledge. Knowledge does not burn in fire and does not sink in water. The more knowledge we have, the better our future. We set ourselves the goal of laying the foundation for the Third Renaissance. Who will build this foundation? Only educated youth, - said the President.

It was noted that work aimed at creating opportunities for youth will continue. In particular, 55 new schools will be built, additional buildings for 187 schools, 135 schools will be overhauled.

The President noted that in the next five years, the coverage of higher education will reach 50 percent, for which branches of 6 prestigious universities of our country and foreign countries will open in Karakalpakstan.

In the next five years, more than 100 thousand young people will be trained in foreign languages and IT technologies in youth centers and secondary schools in every city and region. New dormitories for 6 thousand places will be built.
