President Reviews New Eco-Friendly Buses in Gulistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a new fleet of modern buses delivered to Gulistan as part of the city’s urban transport renewal program.

As part of the public transport development initiative, 52 new buses have arrived in the city. They fully comply with the Euro-5 environmental standard and run on compressed natural gas.

Each bus accommodates 65 passengers and is equipped with a low floor, ramps, and designated spaces for people with disabilities. For passenger convenience, an electronic fare payment system, “ATTO,” has been installed.

Under the gross contract, buses will operate on seven routes covering 23 mahallas, significantly improving accessibility and halving travel intervals.

The upgraded network is expected to provide safe and high-quality services to 29,000 residents. Over the course of the year, the volume of transport services is projected to reach 38 billion sum, while 120 new jobs will be created.

The President instructed authorities to continue modernizing public transport nationwide and to expand the fleet of modern buses.

During the presentation, plans were also outlined for further development of transport infrastructure, including the future acquisition of 30 eleven-meter long-distance buses. Their introduction is expected to create more than 150 additional jobs and open new opportunities for interregional transportation.
