President points to problems in social sphere

Speaking at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers, President gave several questions to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Adham Ikramov.

He questioned why rural medical points were not reformed. He said that some 2,500 doctors need to the rural medical points. They also poorly equipped.

Uzbek President said that due to low level of diagnostics and shortage of skilled doctors, annually 30,000 citizens are travelling to foreign states for treatment and spend huge money resources from family budget.

He also asked when emergency aid divisions will work properly. He said that the emergency service could not provide first aid.

President also asked when medical personal will stop their negative behavior. Some 174 criminal cases were opened in 2016. He pointed to extortions at maternity hospitals.

Ecology problems also impact to health of people and epidemiological situation in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek leader underlined.

Uzbek President also criticized Dori-Darmon for shortages in work of the drug stores. He said that 45% of expensive medicaments are imported.

President said that it is necessary to speed up work on eliminating shortages and orders on rural medical points, specialized high technological medical centers and medical aid station.

It is also necessary to create the system on improving skills of medical personnel in Uzbekistan and foreign clinics.

The controlling bodies should realize measures to ensure 340 medicaments and medical products at fixed prices. Each citizen should feel real benefit from adopted decisions, he said.

The programme on further developing of pharmaceutical industry for 2016-2020 should be realized efficiently.
