Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 August, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of construction and improvement projects being implemented in Tashkent.

The head of state personally got acquainted with many of these projects aimed at the construction of education, healthcare, trade and service facilities, industrial facilities. Today’s presentation provides information on the progress of the work.

In particular, on 16 October 2020, the President got acquainted with the construction of the Academy of the State Security Service and the Temurbeklar Maktabi school. Today these facilities have been completed and the existing buildings of the academy have been reconstructed. An educational building, a platform for physical and military exercises, a stadium, an autodrome, a dormitory, and a kitchen have been built for the school.

On 31 January 2020, the head of state laid the foundation stone for the University of Geological Sciences. Since then, a large amount of work has been done here: 6 multi-storey buildings have been built, 4 buildings have been reconstructed. The work is currently nearing completion. Along with the university, there will be industrial research institutes, a museum of geology, a library, a hostel and other buildings.

A new complex of buildings of the Tashkent Architecture and Construction Institute is under construction in the Yunusabad region. Two 5-storey educational buildings, an 8-storey administrative building and a 4-storey hostel are under construction. They are scheduled to be commissioned in October this year. At the second stage of the project, social facilities will be built for the teachers of the institute, specialists of the research center and their families.

One of the largest projects in the field of education, the New Uzbekistan University, organized in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 23 June, will begin training the first students in the coming academic year. For the university, separate buildings of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy have been allocated, their modern renovation has been carried out.

In the future, a modern campus will be built for the New Uzbekistan University. Work on the project, developed in accordance with international standards, is in its initial phase.

During a visit to the specialized school of Muhammad al-Khorezmi in 2019, the President instructed to create a branch of the IT park next to it, attract young people there and create broad conditions to enhance their experience.

Currently, the construction of the building is being completed, and the provision of modern equipment continues.

Many projects are being implemented in the healthcare sector. In particular, in the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Aid, a new building is being built for the departments of cardiac surgery, transplantology and neurovascular surgery. As a result, modern conditions will be created for these complex operations, and high-tech medical care will be provided to an additional 3 thousand patients a year. The construction of the new complex will be completed in September this year.

The former Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense was built in the forties of the last century. The head of our state visited it in 2018 and gave instructions to reconstruct and equip the hospital with modern equipment, and introduce modern management. On this basis, large-scale construction and repair work is being carried out. The Central Military Clinical Hospital will begin work in the renovated building in December this year.

Information was also provided on the construction progress of the "Safe City" situation center, trade and service centers, industrial enterprises, roads and bridges.
