In Astana, the President of Uzbekistan will participate in the first consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia. During the meeting, the parties will discuss a wide range of issues.

The press service of the President of Uzbekistan reminded that the meeting is held at the suggestion of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which he proposed at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in September 2017 and developed it into a comprehensive program at the international conference “Central Asia: One past and common future, cooperation for sustainable development and mutual prosperity”.

The initiative of Uzbekistan was supported by all countries of the region. Kazakhstan suggested holding the first summit in Astana.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the official opening ceremony of the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan on the same day.

The head of Uzbekistan during his visit to Astana will hold a bilateral meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
