President of Uzbekistan to Undertake Official Visit to Japan

President of Uzbekistan to Undertake Official Visit to Japan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 18 to 20 December 2025, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will pay an official visit to Japan at the invitation of the country’s Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi.

During his stay in Tokyo, the President will hold a series of meetings and negotiations with Emperor Naruhito, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, the leadership of the Japanese Parliament, government officials, representatives of political parties, as well as rectors of leading Japanese universities.

The focus of the visit will be on further expanding and deepening the Uzbekistan-Japan strategic partnership, as well as fostering multi-level cooperation across various sectors.

As part of the business program, the President will meet with heads of major Japanese companies and financial institutions, where discussions are expected to concentrate on enhancing trade and economic cooperation and promoting joint investment projects.

A package of bilateral documents aimed at strengthening strategic partnership between the two countries is expected to be signed during the visit.

Additionally, the President of Uzbekistan will participate in the inaugural summit of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue of Heads of State, where priority areas of cooperation will be addressed, including the green economy and sustainable development, strengthening connectivity and regional partnership, and the development of human capital.

The summit is expected to culminate in the adoption of the Tokyo Declaration.
