President of Uzbekistan to attend SCO summit
The press service of Kremlin said that the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Council of Heads of State will discuss the organisation’s continued development, strengthening its role on the international stage, and deepening coordination on current global and regional issues.
The SCO leaders will approve a solid package of documents, including the SCO Development Strategy through to 2025.
They will also decide on the start of the accession procedure for India and Pakistan. The Ufa Declaration will be signed at the summit.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is a permanent intergovernmental international organisation creation of which was proclaimed on 15 June 2001 in Shanghai (China) by the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People’s Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan have observer status at the SCO. Belarus, Turkey and Sri Lanka are dialogue partners of the SCO.
