Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 March, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov, who heads the Russian delegation at the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
At the beginning of the meeting, Maxim Reshetnikov conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to the head of our state, and sincerely congratulated him on the successful results of the Tashkent forum.
Issues of practical implementation of agreements at the highest level on expanding the Uzbek-Russian multifaceted cooperation were considered. Particular attention is paid to the promotion of specific projects of industrial cooperation and ensuring positive dynamics in the growth of mutual trade indicators.
It was noted with satisfaction that last year bilateral trade increased by a third and reached a record $7.5 billion. In the first months of this year, the increase in trade indicators exceeded 50 percent.
At present, more than 2,000 joint ventures are successfully operating in Uzbekistan, and the volume of attracted Russian investments in our economy is more than 10 billion dollars.
During the conversation, the importance of continuing close cooperation at the level of the governments of the two countries, as well as the effective use of the potential of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, was emphasized.
