Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 April, a solemn ceremony of presenting credentials was held by newly appointed foreign ambassadors to our country.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received credentials from the ambassadors of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Mohammad Zahangir Alam, the Czech Republic Václav Jílek, the Arab Republic of Egypt Amira Fahmi, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Demiya Zuheir Haddad, the Turkish Republic of Olgan Bekar, and the head of the delegation of the Russian Federation Oleg Malginov.
At the beginning of the event, the head of our state sincerely congratulated the newly appointed ambassadors on the beginning of the diplomatic mission in the republic.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the further development of constructive dialogue, expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation and practical interaction with foreign countries and international structures.
The priorities of the ongoing democratic transformations, the ongoing strategic programs and projects aimed at the formation of a new Uzbekistan were especially noted.
The focus is on overcoming the consequences of the pandemic and ensuring sustainable socio-economic development, targeted support for all segments of the population and raising their standard of living, the formation of new points of long-term growth and ensuring the global competitiveness of our state.
Speaking about the key directions of foreign policy, the leader of Uzbekistan highlighted the consistently strengthening relations of strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation with the countries of the Central Asian region and the leading states of the world.
Today, through joint efforts, cooperation is expanding in the field of trade, investment and innovation, digital technologies and the "green economy", transport, transit and logistics, finance, medicine and many other areas.
Along with this, Uzbekistan maintains a close dialogue and deepens multilateral ties within the United Nations, CIS, SCO, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Turkic Council and other authoritative structures, and also builds up partnerships with global financial institutions.
The head of our state dwelled separately on the prospects for full-scale and long-term cooperation with the countries represented by the newly appointed ambassadors.
Bangladesh is our important partner in South Asia, our friendly peoples are historically linked by common spiritual and cultural values, sacred religion.
The importance of regular bilateral political consultations, strengthening cooperation in the textile industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and other spheres was noted.
Both countries have every opportunity to dramatically increase mutual trade and tourist flow. To this end, contacts should be intensified and the potential of the joint Intergovernmental Commission should be fully utilized.
Our reliable and promising partner in Europe is the Czech Republic.
The leader of Uzbekistan noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of bilateral relations in recent years. Despite the pandemic, trade between our countries tripled last year, exceeding US$500 million.
The main task is the formation of a portfolio of joint projects in such areas as high technology and innovation, the automotive industry, agricultural machinery, energy, medicine, education and tourism. This will serve to shape a rich agenda for future summits.
Addressing the Egyptian Ambassador, the President of Uzbekistan stressed that today bilateral relations have reached a qualitatively new level.
This was facilitated by the fruitful results of the historic visit of the President of Egypt Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi to our country in September 2018.
It was proposed to effectively use the large untapped potential of cooperation, including to activate the institutional mechanisms of interaction.

A confidential political dialogue has been established today. Despite the pandemic, active exchanges of delegations continue. In particular, in recent months the republic was visited by delegations led by the ministers of foreign affairs and trade of Turkey.
Major trade, investment and infrastructure projects are being implemented with the participation of leading Turkish companies and banks. Interregional ties have been established, joint programs and events in the field of education, culture and cinema are being successfully carried out.
Preparations are underway for the upcoming summits - the next meeting of the Turkic Council in Istanbul and the official visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Uzbekistan.
The European Union has traditionally been an important strategic partner of our country.
In recent years, multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU, based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and trust, has acquired new dynamics.
They especially noted the comprehensive support provided by the European partners for the democratic transformations, economic reforms and transformation processes being carried out in the republic. The granting of the status of a beneficiary of the EU General System of Preferences to our country was named as a joint success and an important achievement in bilateral relations.
At present, intensive negotiations are underway on the draft Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. A fruitful dialogue is developing in the formats "Uzbekistan - European Union" and "Central Asia - European Union".
Confidence was expressed that the planned events at the highest level would help bring the Uzbek-European multifaceted relations to a fundamentally new stage.
As the President of our country emphasized, the strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia has reached an unprecedented high level.
Thanks to joint efforts and mutual support, there has been great progress in all areas of interaction.
Major projects and programs are being implemented in the field of trade, investment, energy, industry, metallurgy, agriculture, transport, infrastructure, banking and financial sector, education, healthcare, culture, tourism and many other areas.
The International Exhibition "Innoprom" recently held in Tashkent, organized for the first time outside of Russia, once again demonstrated the enormous potential and opportunities for full-scale cooperation.
In addition, mutually beneficial dialogue is deepening within the framework of the CIS, SCO, the Eurasian Economic Union and other international structures.
