Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 November, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Chairman of the Supreme Council for National Reconciliation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah, who is in our country on a working visit.
During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as assistance to a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Afghanistan.
The head of our state noted with deep satisfaction the dynamics of the development of Uzbek-Afghan relations in recent years. Efforts to expand practical interaction, promote priority projects in the areas of trade, economy, investment, transport and logistics, energy, education and other key areas were especially emphasized.
They expressed their readiness to actively participate in infrastructure projects of regional importance in Afghanistan.
Abdullah Abdullah, thanking for the warm welcome, praised the efforts of the Uzbek side, which contributed to the launch of peaceful inter-Afghan negotiations, as well as the consolidation of the international community's actions to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan.
The guest expressed gratitude for constant assistance and highlighted the contribution of Uzbekistan to the involvement of Afghanistan in regional trade and economic processes.
During the talks, an exchange of views took place on issues of mutual interest in regional and international politics.
