Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 March, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Republic of Turkey headed by Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The meeting discussed topical issues of the development of Uzbek-Turkish multifaceted relations.

The head of our state noted with satisfaction that regular contacts at the highest level contribute to further strengthening the ties of friendship and strategic partnership, expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries and filling it with concrete content.

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu expressed deep gratitude to the leader of Uzbekistan for the welcome and conveyed warm greetings and sincere wishes of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

During the conversation, special attention was paid to the practical implementation of the agreements of the first meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council at the level of heads of state, held in Ankara in February last year, as well as the preparation of the next summit in our country.

The importance of building up cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, in particular the preparation and implementation of new investment projects in Uzbekistan with the participation of leading Turkish companies, was emphasized.

They noted mutual interest in developing an active interregional dialogue, promoting joint educational, cultural and humanitarian programs.

An exchange of views took place on issues of international politics and regional partnership, including within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization and the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States.
