President of Uzbekistan Offers Condolences to India Following Plane Crash

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent messages of condolence to President of the Republic of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the tragic airplane crash that claimed numerous lives and left many injured in the city of Ahmedabad.

In his telegram, the Head of State expressed deep sympathy and support to the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as to the people of India as a whole, wishing a speedy recovery to all those injured.

The crash occurred in the Indian state of Gujarat and involved a passenger aircraft operated by Air India. According to preliminary reports, there were 242 people on board, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members.

As reported by News18, at least 133 people have died in the tragedy, though the exact number of victims is still being clarified.

The aircraft was a Boeing 787 Dreamliner operating flight AI171 from Ahmedabad to London. The crash happened shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport. Eyewitnesses reported a series of powerful explosions and a subsequent fire in the Meghani Nagar area, where the plane went down.

Emergency services are working at the crash site, and rescue operations are ongoing. Indian authorities have not yet commented on the cause of the accident, and an investigation is underway.
