Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 March, on the sidelines of the International Investment Forum, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Chairman of the Council of Elders (aksakals) of the Organization of Turkic States, Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party of Turkey Binali Yildirim, who is in our country on a working visit.

At the beginning of the meeting, Binali Yildirim conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the head of our state.

The leader of Uzbekistan noted with satisfaction the current level of Uzbek-Turkish relations of strategic partnership. The volume of mutual trade is growing, major investment projects are being implemented to create a modern industry and modernize infrastructure, and cultural and humanitarian ties are being strengthened.

Currently, active preparations are underway for the next meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.

Issues of interaction within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States were considered. Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of the agreements reached at the Organization’s Istanbul summit held in November last year.

Among them is the promotion of joint initiatives and projects in the field of trade, transport and logistics, industrial cooperation, the development of the "green economy", innovation and the transfer of high technologies.

There was also an exchange of views on topical issues of the regional agenda.
