President of Uzbekistan Meets U.S. Delegation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a U.S. delegation led by the Special Presidential Envoy for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor.

The meeting was also attended by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and other official representatives of the American side.

The parties discussed the further development of Uzbek-American relations and the strengthening of strategic partnership in the context of implementing agreements reached at the highest level in New York on 23 September 2025. At the beginning of the meeting, Sergio Gor conveyed to President Mirziyoyev sincere greetings and warm wishes from U.S. President Donald Trump.

Particular attention was given to the high level of political dialogue, regular exchanges at various levels, and the activation of business contacts. It was emphasized that trade turnover is growing, and in early October the visit of a U.S. Chamber of Commerce mission was successfully held.

Projects in key sectors of the economy were discussed, including industry, finance, critical minerals, energy, digitalization, and agriculture, within the framework of the adopted cooperation “roadmap.” In addition, the parties addressed issues of security enhancement, counterterrorism and extremism, as well as combating illegal migration.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on pressing global and regional issues. The discussion concluded with plans for upcoming events, including the “C5+1” summit scheduled to take place next week in Washington.
