President of Uzbekistan Meets Participants of the Asian Olympic Council General Assembly

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with the leadership of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and participants of the 46th General Assembly of the organization.

At the beginning of the meeting, the newly elected OCA President, Sheikh Jauan bin Hamad Al Thani, conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

President Mirziyoyev expressed his gratitude for choosing Tashkent as the venue for the assembly, highlighting the high level of trust in Uzbekistan as a reliable partner in the international sports movement. Special attention was given to the role of sports in implementing the priorities of the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy.

Both sides emphasized their readiness to further strengthen cooperation with international sports organizations, implement joint programs, and carry out initiatives aimed at achieving tangible results.

At the conclusion of the meeting, for his significant contribution to the development of sports and strengthening international sports cooperation, President Mirziyoyev awarded the OCA Director General and President of the World Aquatics Federation, Hussein Al-Musallam, the high state award — the Order of “Do‘stlik” of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
