Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The people of Uzbekistan suffered a heavy loss.

On 24 April, at the age of 82, an outstanding statesman and public figure, member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, chairman of the Samarkand regional department of the Nuroniy foundation, Hero of Uzbekistan Hasan Normurodov died.

Hasan Normurodov was born on 16 November 1939 in Kattakurgan district of Samarkand region. After graduating from high school, he was educated at the Kattakurgan Pedagogical School and Samarkand State University.

Normurodov began his career as a teacher of his native language and literature in a secondary school, then for many years he worked in various cities and districts of the Samarkand region.

In particular, he worked fruitfully in leadership positions in the city of Kattakurgan, Jambay, Narpay districts, as a secretary of the Samarkand regional party committee.

In 1988-1995 he worked as the head of the Samarkand regional department of public education, in 1995-2003 - the chairman of the Samarkand regional council of the trade union of public education and science workers.

From 2003 to the present, he worked selflessly as the chairman of the Samarkand regional department of the Nuroniy fund.

Hasan Normurodov was a great man who, during his more than 60 years of work, with his enormous leadership potential, rich knowledge and experience, exemplary spiritual qualities, boundless love and devotion to the Motherland, rightfully took a deep place in the heart of our multinational people.

Under his direct leadership, large-scale work was carried out on the socio-economic development and improvement of various districts of the Samarkand region, improving the living standards of the population, and the effectiveness of the education system.

Hasan Normurodov, as a truly national aksakal, has always lived with the concerns of people. He wholeheartedly, sparing no effort, served the cause of protecting the rights and interests of the older generation, women, creating decent conditions for them, educating young people in the spirit of national and universal values, ensuring their bright future.

As a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, he made a significant contribution to strengthening our independence, the development of the domestic parliamentary system, the development and implementation of important laws necessary for the socio-economic development of the country.

Hassan Normurodov’s enormous services to the state and people were adequately appreciated. He was awarded the orders "Dustlik", "Mekhnat Shukhrati", "El-Yurt Khurmati", he was awarded the high title of Hero of Uzbekistan.

The bright memory of the great son of our people, an outstanding statesman and public figure, a sincere and selfless person Hasan Normurodov will forever remain in our hearts.
