Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 July, a telephone conversation took place between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty, on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the fraternal Turkmen people, cordially congratulated the head of our state on his birthday, warmly wishing peace, well-being, sustainable development and prosperity of Uzbekistan. 

Issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership were discussed.

The fruitful results of the high-level visit to our country, which took place on July 14-15 this year, were highly appreciated. The importance of the practical implementation of the agreements reached on the basis of the road map, including the medium-term Industrial Cooperation Program, the project to create a Border Trade Zone, contracts and agreements following the results of the first Forum of Regions and the Business Council, was emphasized.

Active contacts and exchanges through the established effective inter-parliamentary dialogue were noted with particular satisfaction.

An exchange of views took place on the regional agenda, including the issues of holding a summit of the Organization of Turkic States in the city of Samarkand in November this year.
