President of Uzbekistan Discusses Expansion of Energy Cooperation with CNPC

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of his official visit to Beijing, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with Dai Houliang, Chairman of the Board of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

During the meeting, it was emphasized that CNPC’s direct investments in Uzbekistan have already exceeded US$5 billion.

Plans to expand investment cooperation were discussed, including projects for the construction of underground natural gas storage facilities, modernization of infrastructure, implementation of advanced metrological standards, and application of innovative solutions.

CNPC is one of the world’s largest energy corporations, specializing in high-tech projects for the extraction and processing of hydrocarbon resources both domestically and internationally. The company’s market capitalization exceeds US$200 billion.
